“RecycleMore” is a West Contra Costa County special district government public agency officially known as the West Contra Costa Integrated Waste Management Authority (WCCIWMA) or “Authority”.

The Authority is a joint powers agency created by the Member Agencies which includes the cities of El Cerrito, Hercules, Pinole, Richmond, San Pablo and unincorporated Contra Costa County (i.e. El Sobrante, North Richmond, Tara Hills, Rollingwood, East Richmond Heights, Bayview, Montalvin Manor). The region consists of the approximately 74 square miles located within the boundaries of these agencies in Western Contra Costa County, known as the jurisdiction.  The population of the region is approximately 250,000 living in approximately 75,000 households. Within the jurisdiction, the Authority provides waste processing management services of the franchised waste stream which includes the landfill, recyclables, composting, and Household Hazardous Waste (HHW).

The Authority is also charged with implementing and making sure the region is in compliance with California State Laws such as AB 939, AB 1826, and SB 1383, which mandate reducing the amount of waste materials going to landfill.

Mission
The mission of the Authority is to provide cost effective compliance with the California Department of Recycling, Resources, and Recovery (“CalRecycle”), and with relevant laws for the member agency cities in the Authority’s jurisdiction.
