Door-to-Door HHW Collection Program

 

RecycleMore offers a Door-to-Door Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Collection Pick Up Program for Seniors and Disabled Persons, in partnership with Republic Services. If you qualify, a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Vehicle will visit your home to pick up your household hazardous waste. 

 

ELIGIBILITY FOR THIS SERVICE

To be eligible for this FREE pickup service from your single family home, you must be:

  • Age 65 or older; OR be a disable person;

AND

AND

  • A resident in one of the following cities: El Cerrito, Richmond, San Pablo, Hercules, Pinole or surrounding unincorporated communities (including Bayview, East Richmond Heights, El Sobrante, Montalvin Manor, North Richmond, Rollingwood and Tara Hills).

 

WEIGHT/QUANTITY LIMIT OF MATERIALS COLLECTED FOR THIS SERVICE

There is a 20 pound minimum (equivalent to 3 full paint cans) and 250 pounds maximum (equivalent to 30 gallons) requirement for pickup.

 

LIMIT OF HOW MANY TIMES TO USE THIS SERVICE

Residents may schedule a maximum of two (2) appointments per year, per address.

  • Aerosols & Spray Paints
  • Antifreeze, Carburetor/Engine Cleaners
  • Used Motor Oil & Filters*
  • Batteries (All types except electric vehicle batteries)
  • Cooking Oil*
  • Electronic Waste (With circuit boards)
  • Fertilizers, Herbicides, Insecticides & Poisons
  • Fluorescent Bulbs & Tubes
  • Gas & Diesel Fuel (In Department of Transportation approved, non-rusty, leak-proof plastic gas cans)
  • Household Cleaners
  • Mercury Thermometers & Thermostats
  • Microwaves (Other appliances not accepted)
  • Paints (Latex and oil-based)
  • Photo Chemicals
  • Pool Chemicals
  • Solvents, Stains, Thinners & Varnishes
  • TVs up to 27” – No Console TV’s (Larger TVs , projection TVs and console TVs are accepted for Drop-Off at the HHW Facilities) 

 

*Pick up of used motor oil, used filters, and cooking oil will only be accepted if there are additional materials for collection.
