A child will NOT be allowed to tour the IRRF unless this waiver form is signed by a parent or guardian and the teacher brings the form to the IRRF on the day of the tour.
The Integrated Resource Recovery Facility (IRRF) is located at 101 Pittsburg Avenue in Richmond and is operated by West County Resource Recovery, Inc. This transfer station and recycling center receives 150 tons of recyclable material daily. Materials such as the ones in the blue carts West County residents set at the curb are sorted and bailed for shipment to processors, where they will be recycled into new products.
West County Resource Recovery, Inc. works with the West Contra Costa Integrated Waste Management Authority (Authority) to educate West County residents, businesses and schools about waste reduction and recycling. Tours are offered to children so that they may witness first hand how garbage and recyclable materials are collected and processed. It is important for young people to understand where their discards go and the environmental problems associated with waste disposal.
West County Resource Recovery, Inc. requests that the parents or guardians of children who tour the IRRF sign the following waiver:
The undersigned agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Authority, West County Resource Recovery, Inc., Richmond Sanitary Service and the West Contra Costa Sanitary Landfill for any and all damages, costs, claims, demands and expenses of whatever type or nature, which shall be caused by, arise out of, or in any manner be connected with touring the IRRF. The undersigned has read and understands the foregoing, and agrees to comply with all of the conditions, covenants and provisions herein.
