School Programs

RecycleMore’s comprehensive school recycling and classroom education programs have successfully served West Contra Costa County schools for many years. The goal of the school programs is to educate families through school age children on the importance of waste reduction, recycling, and composting, with the hope of continuing the habits through adulthood and then on with their own families.

With the partnership of Republic Services, RecycleMore is able to offer FREE recycling center field trips and classroom/assembly presentations to public and private schools in West Contra Costa County (one per year per school). Field trips, presentations, and assemblies are ONLY offered on the 2nd Tuesday and 3rd Thursday of each month at 9AM or 11AM (except no presentations/assemblies in February during President’s Week, and no Facility tours are offering during the winter months of December, January, and February). Field trip and presentation schedules are ideally coordinated at the beginning of the school year as there are only a limited number of spots available, but can be ongoing depending on availability.

Republic Services and RecycleMore can also provide assistance to schools in establishing and maintaining an on-site recycling and organics collection programs (in the cafeteria and/or in the classrooms) by working with administrators, maintenance staff, teachers as well as students and the school’s environmental groups.
